Dinner with the Doctors focuses on Heart Health

You’ve probably heard the old saying “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”  From routine maintenance on our automobiles to backing up files on our computers, this practice applies to many aspects of life, but none better than our heart health.  Nearly 2,400 Americans die every day of cardiovascular disease, and knowing and doing something about your risk factors can be your ounce of prevention.  A healthy lifestyle is your best defense against heart
disease and stroke.  Moreover, it’s never too late to improving your heart health.

Two experienced, board-certified family physicians can help by giving you factual and practical information about reducing your heart-disease risk at a special Dinner with the Doctors set for Wednesday, March 25, 6 p.m. at Jennersville Regional Hospital cafeteria, located on the first floor of the Hospital.  The program is free and open to the community with pre-registration.  Dinner is served starting at 5:45 p.m. with the lecture starting shortly after 6 p.m.

Board-certified and on staff at Jennersville Regional Hospital, Dr. Duran and Dr. Barkasy are experienced family physicians.  They received their medical degrees from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and completed residency training with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, DE.   Drs. Duran and Barkasy have been practicing in West Grove since 2002 and recently opened Family Practice Associates of West Grove, located across the street from Jennersville Regional Hospital, 900 West Baltimore Pike, Suite 200.

As part of the program, attendees will receive a free one-week membership to the YMCA of Jennersville and learn how the Y can help you stay motivated in achieving a more active lifestyle.
