ER Patient Satisfaction TOPS National Levels - Again!
In an emergency, getting to the nearest hospital may mean the difference between life and death. For those living in Southern Chester County, the closest Emergency Department is at Jennersville Regional Hospital. While proximity is one of its biggest assets, did you know the JRH Emergency Department has achieved top marks for many aspects of its services?
In summary reports that analyze results from patient satisfaction surveys conducted January through September 30, 2008, Jennersville Regional Hospital patients gave our care and facility “very satisfied” rating (the highest possible selection) at levels that were above national norms. As noted in the chart below, JRH scores consistently ranked higher than the norm for approximately 1600 health care facilities in the national database managed by HealthStream Research, the independent company that gathers and reports patient satisfaction data. Furthermore, When looking at the total percentage of patients who gave the Department a “satisfied” or a “very satisfied” rating the Hospital regularly achieves marks in the 90th percentile.
Pleased with her Department’s continued good results, Dianne Ryan, RN, Director of Emergency Services, explains that good customer service is about doing what’s right for the patient, a philosophy that has long been adopted by the entire ER team thus contributing to their consistent results. The Department has also worked hard to reach and maintain standards that dictate time frames for various steps within the process of providing ER care. “While an influx of patients may prevent us from reaching these benchmarks for every patient, a large percentage of those we treat, receive care sooner than the standard.
