Laboratory

Accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services, our Clinical Laboratory provides efficient services for both inpatients and outpatients. Accreditation means our Laboratory is held to the highest quality and safety standards and assures that the results produced are accurate.

Staff pathologists and technicians perform tests on blood and other body fluids, as well as tissue specimens removed during surgery. Procedures include blood chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology, and immunology.

Our Outpatient Laboratory is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Our experienced phlebotomy staff is friendly, courteous and proficient, making your blood collection quick and easy.

The only test that requires an appointment is a glucose tolerance test which can be scheduled by calling 610-869-1080.

We also staff a full-service blood bank. You or your family may give blood for use during surgery, as part of a cooperative program with Miller-Keystone Blood Bank. For more information, please contact our Laboratory at 610-869-1080.

As the Hospital’s blood supplier, Miller-Keystone holds four community blood drives annually in Conference Room A, just off the new Main Lobby. Drives are typically held in March, June.
