A Rewarding Summer Experience for Teens

Are you interested in a medical career or looking for a way to give to the community? If so, you’ll want to consider our Teen Volunteer Program that runs from late-June through August.
Teens ages 14 and older have the opportunity to volunteer in different areas of the hospital, including Patient Transport, Emergency Department, Food Services, Physician Offices, Surgery Center and the Department of Radiology.

To participate in the program, Teen volunteers are required to:

• Complete and submit Teen Volunteer Services application, provide a reference letter from a teacher, guidance counselor or other adult who is not a family member, and schedule an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator
  Applications are accepted and interviews are offered on a first come, first serve basis through Friday, May 27, 2011 as space allows.

• Agree to have a drug and tuberculosis test, administered at and paid by the Hospital, before starting service;

• Have a minimum of a “C” average in school;

• Be at least 14 years old;

• Be able to give a minimum of one four-hour day of service per week;

• Follow dress code:

• Red polo or button down shirt, khaki slacks or capris and rubber-soled, closed-toe shoes (no sandals, tee shirts or shorts allowed);
• Hospital ID badge

• Attend mandatory Volunteer orientation program in early June (date to be determined)or make alternate arrangements with the Volunteer Coordinator.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Teens who have previously volunteered at Jennersville Regional Hospital are not required to complete a new application or attend orientation; however, they must have a new tuberculin skin test and speak with the Volunteer Coordinator before beginning a new term of service. Returning volunteers are also required to review written policy updates soon after service has begun.
